About
Weedcraft Inc is an indie strategy and simulation title published by Devolver Digital and developed by Vile Monarch. The game was released on April 10, 2019, and focuses on a single-player experience where players manage a marijuana business in America. You will handle the production, breeding, and selling of weed while examining the financial, political, and cultural aspects surrounding this plant. Managing resources is essential as you oversee distribution and prepare to face competition from other operators. Players can cultivate plants and cross-breed them to create new strains for their inventory. The simulation requires you to hire and manage a staff that grows throughout your operation. You must decide when to take on extra risks to maximize profit while remaining aware of law enforcement and political pressures. These external forces are actively working against your business goals in various ways. The main story takes approximately 22 hours to complete if you focus only on the primary objectives. Adding extras extends the playtime to around 48 hours for those who want a more thorough experience. Completing all aspects of the game, including every optional task and challenge, requires about 57 hours. This length allows for deep engagement with the complex systems presented in the simulation.

Weedcraft, Inc is a tricky tycoon game that overextends itself—but almost nails it.

Weedcraft is a well-designed management sim with stylish art and catchy music. Generally, it does its job well. Managing things is hectic and engaging, and you can't afford to take your eye off the ball for too long, lest someone take advantage of your ignorance and kick you out of the market and into prison. However, its characters are stale, its dialogue is boring, and its depiction of ill people is really disgusting. These aren't minor flaws by any means and they drastically affect play.
