About
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is an action, adventure, and platformer developed and published by Oddworld Inhabitants. Released on October 30, 1997, this single-player title takes place in a lush world filled with diabolical danger. The protagonist is a skinny character who has no weapons to defend himself against threats that want to eat him. Players must run, jump, hide, and scramble to avoid the ugliest bunch of carnivorous crustaceans ever created. The story follows Abe, a first-class Mudokon floor-waxer for RuptureFarms, who overhears plans to turn his kind into Tasty Treats. During his escape from RuptureFarms, Abe receives a vision from the mysterious Big Face regarding his mission. He must rescue his fellow Mudokons and protect all of Oddworld's creatures from the predatory Magog Cartel. The game features great and bizarre graphical design that supports this surreal sensory experience. Success depends on unlocking Abe's special powers while figuring out your foes before becoming dinner. You decide whether to act as a saviour or end up as salami in Molluck the Glukkon's meat-packing empire. The gameplay is challenging, with the odds definitely against you throughout the adventure.
