About

Oriental Empires is a historical strategy simulation published by Iceberg Interactive and developed by Shining Pixel Studios, released on September 16, 2017. This indie title allows players to control a city or tribe from the dawn of Chinese history and expand it into a great empire. The game features single-player and co-op modes where you develop your land, create great cities, and raise huge armies to fight epic wars. You can advance your technology, culture, and religion to build one of mankind's great civilizations within this simulation experience. All action occurs on one spectacular game map that depicts the mountains, forests, plains, and deserts of China. Players can zoom in close to review troops and see peasants toiling or zoom out for a strategic overview of the landscape. The map features an attractive depiction of the terrain of China and Mongolia, supporting large-scale battles with hundreds or thousands of soldiers depicted in detail. Fully animated 3D models show variations in face and clothing for infantry, cavalry, chariot, artillery units, and naval forces. Start out as a single nation or tribe with a single settlement and expand your empire to become the universally recognized Son of Heaven. You can persuade other factions to recognize you through military force or diplomatic persuasion while playing as one of 24 different factions. Each faction offers its own special bonuses or penalties that shape your path to dominance. Develop your settlements by constructing buildings, developing the landscape, and building markets and ports for trade by land and water. The elaborate research tree includes technology as well as cultural, philosophical, and religious developments that change the game over time. As Emperor, you set edicts, laws, and decrees to balance power and move into a glorious new Era with new technologies and military units. Many elements determine the outcome of your quest for dominance, including leaders, sieges, unrest, rebellion, and authority and culture ratings. Conquer together or betray your allies in multiplayer mode, which supports up to 15 players where anything goes. The main story length is approximately 18 hours.Read more
