About
Out of Ammo is an indie action strategy title developed and published by RocketWerkz that arrived on September 14, 2016. The game functions as a hybrid between tower defense and first-person shooter mechanics within a virtual reality environment. Players assume the role of a commander facing continuous waves of enemy soldiers in this room-scale VR experience. You can move freely across the battlefield to construct defenses while issuing orders to your troops. The core gameplay loop involves building structures like machine gun nests and sniper towers to withstand relentless attacks. Direct possession allows you to control individual soldiers, utilizing cover and managing ammunition reserves carefully. Strategic elements include calling in airstrikes and deploying gunships to support your defensive positions. The experience supports both single-player campaigns and cooperative multiplayer sessions for up to four players. The main story content spans approximately four hours of gameplay across eight unique campaign missions. Three additional FPS challenge missions provide further testing of player skill within the same virtual reality framework. Each mission type offers distinct scenarios that require adapting your defense strategies against different enemy compositions. The game focuses on survival through careful planning and direct unit control rather than open-ended exploration.
