About
Phantom Brigade is an indie RPG and strategy title developed and published by Brace Yourself Games. The game combines simulation elements with a turn-based approach to let players command mechs in a war-torn setting. Released on February 28, 2023, this single-player experience focuses on deep customization and player-driven narratives. You act as the last surviving squad of mech pilots leading a desperate campaign to retake Fyrland. The core gameplay involves capturing enemy equipment and facilities to level the playing field against outgunned forces. A revolutionary timeline-based command system allows you to see the future and predict enemy actions before plotting your counterattack. This cinematic spin on the genre lets you orchestrate precisely timed measures and execute physics-based action sequences in real time. Players can rain destruction upon invaders using an exquisite arsenal that includes railguns, beam weapons, missiles, and energy swords. Weaponry is salvaged from each defeated enemy mech to expand your options during battles. High-level tactical decisions are required as you lead the Phantom Brigade through a difficult campaign. The main story takes approximately 29 hours to complete, while including extras extends playtime to around 90 hours.Read moreShow less

An exciting concept begging for structural refinements and more meat on its robot bones.

Mixing Into the Breach with Frozen Synapse makes for an inevitably strong core of mech combat, but the rest of Phantom Brigade is underwhelming.
