About
Achilles: Legends Untold is an action RPG published by Dark Point Games and Galaktus that falls within the indie, adventure, casual, open world, and role-playing genres. Released on November 2, 2023, the game places players in the mythical world of ancient Greece to assume the role of the fearless warrior Achilles. The experience combines souls-like combat mechanics with a variety of enemies, each possessing a distinct combat pattern that requires adaptation. Players can choose from single-player or multi-player modes, though online co-op is not available in this version. Combat involves mastering defense tactics such as blocking and evading alongside a wide array of attacks to succeed against foes utilizing an innovative GAIA system. This proprietary Group AI Action system governs cooperation within the environment, allowing adversaries to exhibit unscripted interactions and coordinated attacks. The open world is ready for exploration, featuring meticulously crafted locations inspired by Ancient Greece where you can ascend mountain passes and venture into dungeons. Character development options are available through a wealth of skill points that expand your hero's capabilities. You may select an ideal weapon, ranging from a one-handed sword paired with an axe to the might of two-handed swords, and equip powerful special attacks. Gathering ingredients allows you to craft grenades, adding another layer to your unique playstyle defined by weapons, items, and skills. The game offers over 20 hours of gameplay for those seeking a substantial experience. For the best gameplay experience, using a controller is recommended to fully engage with the combat systems.

As it stands now, Achilles: Legends Untold is an undercooked and fairly broken romp through ancient Greece, with underwhelming combat and a world that's full of pretty things to look at but with little to do in it.
