About
Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 is an action, fantasy, and adventure title published by Microids and developed by OSome Studio. The game was released on November 28, 2018, offering a single-player experience for fans of the series. After more than ten years since their previous console and PC appearances, the indomitable Gauls return in better shape than ever. This title combines comedy and brawling to create a superb blend of action suitable for all ages. The narrative begins with the disappearance of Getafix, the long-bearded druid who has betrayed his people for Julius Caesar. Following this betrayal, the Gaulish village is in uproar while Chief Vitalstatistix sends Asterix and Obelix on a mission to Rome. Upon arrival, the duo discovers a new amusement park called Las Vegum built by the famous Roman emperor. The players must investigate what Getafix is hiding within this location before the Romans can find out the truth. Players can switch between the shrewd Asterix and the superhumanly strong Obelix to take on hordes of Roman legionaries. Alongside their faithful companion Dogmatix, the characters solve puzzles and overcome challenges throughout the richly detailed world of Las Vegum. The magic potion remains a primary weapon against the Romans, while the game features enhanced graphics that pay tribute to the original comic books. A new system allows players to improve their attacks and set special challenges for themselves. This updated version brings the experience of the original game to a new level with totally redesigned gameplay mechanics. Special bonuses are found within the environments, which remain faithful to the iconic series created by Goscinny and Uderzo. The game includes a new difficulty mode designed for more experienced players looking for additional challenges. Whether you are a diehard fan or have just discovered these adventures, the accessible design ensures an enormously fun experience.
