About
Boyfriend Dungeon is an indie RPG and simulation title published and developed by Kitfox Games, released on August 11, 2021. The game supports single-player gameplay with controller support for a variety of input methods. Players can date up to nine weapons, ranging from dancing swords to heart-piercing daggers, in this adventure set within generated dungeons. The experience involves clearing creatures known as the dunj to earn cash and gain confidence for meeting people. You move into your cousin's old apartment rent-free for the summer while receiving help solving a personal dating problem. The game features various combat styles that allow you to hit hard and dodge quickly with a dagger or take on crowds with a Lasersaber. Romance options include male, female, and non-binary characters in an inclusive approach to gender and sexuality. Romantic outings can take place at locations such as the club or the beach alongside your weapon partners. The main story length is approximately five hours, while the main story plus extras extends to eight hours. A completionist playthrough requires about eleven hours to finish all content.

Boyfriend Dungeon Critic Reviews and Review Scores

Boyfriend Dungeon offers a fun spin on the dating sim formula, but its roguelite parts don't always mix well with developing romance. Being uncomfortably close to the antagonist dulls Boyfriend Dungeon too.

The story pairs real human experience with comedic levity, offering depth to the game that should appeal to story lovers and roguelike fans
Tom's GuideVeerender Jubbal
Boyfriend Dungeon elicits an emotional attachment to its large cast of characters, but repetitive gameplay and dungeons sour the experience.
