The title was released on June 20, 2016, and offers a single-player experience set in an apocalyptic Seattle during the year 1986. In this gritty world where a zombie outbreak has eliminated hope for normal life, players control Randall as he searches for his family. Survival depends on running, hiding, and fighting through undead threats while solving environmental puzzles to overcome hazards. Combat is not always the solution; instead, players must use their surroundings to sneak past enemies, trick them, or lure them into traps. Assessing every situation helps increase the odds of survival as Randall stays out of the shadow's grasp. Enhanced controls and new character animations make Randall more agile and easier to control in this destroyed world. The game includes a new Survival Arena mode where players can endure their toughest challenge yet.
