Dorfromantik is a peaceful building strategy and puzzle game where you create a beautiful and ever-growing village landscape by placing tiles. The game features single-player gameplay. You can explore a variety of colorful biomes, discover and unlock new tiles, and complete quests to fill your world with life! Dorfromantik was released on March 24, 2021. It is published by Toukana Interactive and developed by Toukana Interactive. The game falls into the Indie, Puzzle, Strategy, Turn-based, Casual, and Simulation genres. If you beat the highscore, you need to carefully plan and strategically place your tiles. You start with a stack of procedurally generated tiles. One after the other, you draw the top tile of the stack, place it on one available slot, and rotate for the best fit. Thereby groups and combinations of landscapes are formed, such as forests, villages or water bodies, and you are rewarded with points depending on how well the tile fits. The main story in Dorfromantik takes approximately 6 hours to complete. If you include all extras, it will take around 17 hours. A completionist playthrough can take up to 57 hours.

Dorfromantik balances its strategic and cozy elements well, and it's easy to fall into a serene trance of dropping tiles. Pulling the camera back to reveal the full scope of my landscape always feels like a satisfying reward for my subtle, hard work, much like stepping back to admire a finished painting. While it's not the sort of puzzle game I feel compelled to play more than a session or two a day, I always appreciate the improved mood with which it leaves me.
