About
Edna & Harvey: The Breakout - Anniversary Edition is an indie adventure game published and developed by Daedalic Entertainment. Released on December 4, 2019, this single-player title offers a complete overhaul of the original award-winning experience. The update includes high resolution visuals and modernized technology to improve the overall presentation. Players can switch between old and new graphics at will while enjoying intuitive controls throughout the game. The story begins when Edna wakes up in a padded cell with no memories of her past or how she arrived there. She feels sane and wants to escape, supported by Harvey, a talking plush bunny who agrees with her goals. Together they attempt to leave the sanatorium while meeting various weird inmates, including a man in a bee costume. They also encounter pseudo-siamese twins named Hoti and Moti during their journey. Dr. Marcel serves as the head of the sanatorium and works hard to stop Edna from leaving the facility. His endgame remains unclear as players investigate why her memory was wiped in the first place. Bit by bit, Edna begins to remember events that occurred before she entered the sanatorium. The game features more than 20 hours of bizarre humor and crazy adventure fun for those who play through it. A plethora of funny characters populate the world alongside insanely entertaining dialogues that drive the narrative forward. The title presents a unique comic-style aesthetic in a new interpretation for this cult classic. Fans can experience the quirky story anew or discover this gem for the first time with these updated features.
