About

HUNTDOWN is an indie action shooter developed by Easy Trigger Games and published by Coffee Stain Publishing. The game was released on May 12, 2021, and offers both single-player and multiplayer experiences including co-op modes. Players can choose from three distinct characters: Anna Conda, a loose-cannon ex-commando; John Sawyer, a half-robot special forces veteran; and Mow Man, a modified recon droid. The setting is a future city where criminal gangs control the streets while law enforcement struggles to maintain order. The gameplay combines hand-painted 16-bit pixel art graphics with fluid 60-FPS mechanics and an epic synthesized soundtrack. A main story length of six hours leads into additional content that extends playtime to eight hours, while a completionist run takes approximately fifteen hours. The world consists of twenty gritty levels featuring neon-soaked, graffiti-strewn 80s cityscapes. Each level presents a unique gang boss to eliminate and a specific bounty to collect. Four major factions populate the game: Hoodlum Dolls, Misconducts hockey hooligans, The Heatseekers motorcycle club, and NO.1 Suspects martial arts experts. Players can confiscate various weapons such as machine guns, laser weapons, katanas, and grenades to use against their owners. The arcade mode pits players against others globally in a race to rack up scores using combo-kills or quickdraw weapon-swap bonuses. Co-op allows teammates to run, jump, take cover, and provide suppressive fire whether playing locally or via Steam Remote Play.
