About
Metal Wolf Chaos XD is a shooter, action, and sci-fi title published by Devolver Digital. The game was developed by General Arcade in partnership with FromSoftware, Inc. It became available on August 5, 2019, offering players a modernized version of the original experience. This update includes improved visual fidelity, refined controls, and support for 4K resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio. A new save system has also been added to the current build. The narrative follows President Michael Wilson as he defends the United States against a rebellion led by Vice-President Richard Hawk. Players control mechanized legions commanded by the antagonist in this full-scale conflict. As the 47th President, the objective is to reclaim the nation and stop the coup d'etat using any necessary means. Combat takes place within an advanced mech that is heavily armed for battle. Iconic American locations such as the Brooklyn Bridge, the Grand Canyon, and the White House steps serve as key battlegrounds. The main story content requires approximately seven hours to complete. Adding extra activities extends the playtime to around ten hours total. Players aiming for 100% completion can expect to spend about eighteen hours in the game. The original version was released by FromSoftware in December 2004 exclusively on the Xbox console in Japan. That earlier release was difficult to obtain and primarily known through community-shared videos and screenshots.

A masterpiece of absurdist theatre, and a damn fine double-A mech game too.

Metal Wolf Chaos XD is a bare bones HD upgrade that brings the bonkers cult classic West for modern consoles, including its cumbersome gameplay and outdated designs.

The infamous From Software Xbox game finally makes its way to the West, and it's just as odd as we've been led to believe.
