About
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is an indie action-adventure platformer published by FDG Entertainment GmbH & Co KG and developed by Game Atelier. The game was released on July 24, 2019, and features single-player gameplay. This title was created alongside Ryuichi Nishizawa, who is known for the original Wonder Boy in Monster World series. It offers a fresh, modern experience that combines fun gameplay with memorable music and gorgeous hand-drawn animations. Players can help the young hero Jin save the Monster World Kingdom by defeating challenging enemies and discovering hidden locations. The adventure allows users to upgrade powerful equipment and unlock special forms with unique skills to open new paths. These abilities lead to encounters with mighty bosses and secret treasures throughout the vast interconnected environment. There are six awesome forms available, each providing distinct combat and platforming capabilities for the journey. The experience includes over 15 hours of main story content, expanding to 21 hours when extras are included. A completionist playthrough takes approximately 24 hours to finish all available content. Characters and enemies come to life with detailed animations and fun facial expressions in the hand-drawn style. The soundtrack features contributions from iconic Japanese composers including Yuzo Koshiro, Motoi Sakuraba, Michiru Yamane, Keiki Kobayashi, and Takeshi Yanagawa. Magic weapons and items gradually open up the world as players progress through the game.Read moreShow less
