About
Wanted: Dead is an action and adventure title published by 110 Industries SA with development from Soleil Ltd. It was released on February 14, 2023, and offers a single-player experience for those who prefer focused gameplay sessions. This hybrid slasher/shooter comes from the creators behind Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, bringing their specific style to a new setting. The narrative spans one week in the life of the Zombie Unit, an elite Hong Kong police squad investigating a major corporate conspiracy. Players take on the role of Lt. Hannah Stone, a hardboiled cop who faces mercenaries, gang members, and private military contractors throughout the story. The game is designed to be played with a controller to facilitate fluid combos and intuitive combat mechanics. Combat options include hack-n-slash melee moves where players can unleash deadly attacks and unique finishers to slice through enemies. Alternatively, the third-person shooter elements allow engagement with intense battles using assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs, and grenade launchers. The experience culminates in over 50 unique finishing moves that add variety to the brutal encounters. The main story requires approximately eight hours to complete when focusing solely on the primary narrative path. Adding extra content extends the playtime to around ten hours for those seeking additional exploration or side activities. A completionist approach, which involves tackling all available content, will take roughly thirteen hours to finish fully. The setting is a cyberpunk adventure where players navigate through various threats while uncovering the larger conspiracy driving the plot.

Wanted: Dead Critic Reviews and Review Scores

Wanted: Dead is an intentionally messy throwback, one that some people are going to adore while others lament. All the AA jank of a PlayStation 3 action game wrapped up in a janky 2023 modern gaming bow.
EurogamerEdwin Evans-Thirlwell
All the confusing yet irresistible energy of early-noughties double-A gaming, marred by awful writing and a core gimmick that doesn't ignite.
IGNMitchell Saltzman

Wanted: Dead's shallow combat, dated presentation, and poorly balanced difficulty are the tip of the iceberg of issues that ultimately sinks this disappointing action game from the makers of Ninja Gaiden.
