About
X-Morph: Defense is an indie action strategy title developed and published by EXOR Studios, released on August 30, 2017. The game offers both single-player and multiplayer modes, including co-op options for players who prefer team-based experiences. Its core concept combines elements of a top-down shooter with traditional tower defense mechanics in a distinct way. Players take on the role of an alien species known as the X-Morph, tasked with invading Earth to harvest resources and terraform the surface. The gameplay alternates between a build mode for planning defenses and active combat where you can use destructive weapons or direct enemy movement through maze-like structures. You must select various types of alien towers to fortify your position while protecting harvesters from waves of incoming human forces. The environment allows for exceptional planning freedom, enabling you to tear down buildings and collapse bridges to support your defense or create chaotic spectacles. A range of unique alien weapons is available to utilize alongside these unconventional defense strategies. Each enemy wave begins with a setup phase where the player can prepare their defenses before the main conflict begins. The main story requires approximately 12 hours to complete, while including extra content extends the experience to around 18 hours. Those aiming for full completion will find the game takes about 24 hours to finish entirely.
