Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is an action, indie, and adventure title published and developed by WayForward. The game was released on December 20, 2016, offering a single-player experience in full HD. Players control Shantae as she faces a mysterious crime wave that sweeps through Sequin Land. The gameplay relies on Shantae's Hair-Whip Attack to defeat monsters and her Belly Dance ability to transform into more powerful forms. A new Relic System lets players unlock additional powers and customize moves for Shantae and her various creature forms. Over a dozen dances are available for discovery throughout the adventure. The story involves toppling the masterminds behind each criminal caper before facing an ultimate showdown against Risky Boots.
