About
Songs of Syx is an indie strategy title published and developed by Gamatron AB that falls into the casual and simulation categories. Released on September 21, 2020, this single-player game allows players to begin as a small colony and work toward establishing a metropolis and empire. The setting is a low-fantasy world populated by various races, cultures, gods, and strange creatures where day turns into night and weather patterns shift over time. The gameplay mechanics are described as complex and true to life, meaning that minor events can lead to the collapse of kingdoms. Players will encounter droughts, pestilence, pirates, bandits, and new discoveries throughout their journey. The graphics are designed to stimulate the imagination rather than relying on high-fidelity visuals. Prospective buyers are advised to read the Early Access clause carefully and try the unlimited demo before purchasing the full version. The main story length is listed as 50 hours, while no specific duration is provided for extras or completionist runs.
