About

Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance is a real-time strategy title developed and published by Slitherine Ltd. that launched on February 20, 2024. The game falls within the tactical action and strategy genres while offering both single-player and multi-player experiences. Its setting places players directly in the Future Wars conflict between humanity and Legion's synthetic intelligent machine network. The single-player campaign allows you to assume the role of a commander within the Founders, a group composed of surviving US military units. Your objective is to lead your forces in an effort to stop Legion's plan to eliminate the last remaining humans. You will manage an army that persists across missions on several large strategic maps. Throughout these encounters, you must decide on unit placement, battle tactics, and abilities to survive and eventually lead the resistance. In addition to the campaign, skirmish and multiplayer modes let you choose from three distinct factions: Founders, Movement, and Legion. These options provide diverse gameplay styles for competitive or casual matches against other players. The core loop involves making critical decisions about how to deploy your troops and utilize special abilities during combat.

Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance may look the part, but the obnoxious mission design and confused campaign structure of this RTS just aren't worth your time.
