About
The Backrooms: Lost Tape is an action, indie, and adventure title published and developed by Cortez Productions. It was released on December 23, 2022, as a single-player experience set within the mysterious world of the Backrooms. Players take on the role of a cinema usher who accidentally falls into these strange yellow rooms and becomes trapped there. The goal is to unravel the mysteries of this location while navigating through various Liminal Spaces and Backrooms Levels. Throughout the journey, players must be cautious of malevolent entities that stand in their way as they attempt to escape. The game is divided into Tapes, which function as chapters revealing new secrets and challenges with each progression. The first Tape, titled "The Tape of Josh," introduces the story of the usher falling into the Backrooms and seeking a way out. As players explore further, they will encounter additional difficulties and uncover more about this twisted reality. A second Tape is scheduled for release as a free DLC chapter, which will also cause an increase in the game's price. The main story length is listed at two hours, while no specific duration is provided for extras or completionist playthroughs.Read moreShow less
