About

The Great Rebellion is an indie action combat title developed by Kvltgames and published by AIP. This game launched on February 1, 2024, as a single-player experience set in a cyberpunk world. Players control Human 10.28, a character who opposes the technocratic elites of the Lucis Lux Mega-Corporation. The setting depicts a dystopian Europe where these elites seek digital immortality and control over all resources. The gameplay combines sidescrolling run'n'gun mechanics with roguelite elements using mouse or twinstick-shooter controls. Levels are randomly generated, allowing for varied encounters as you blast away robots with one of over 60 weapons. You can upgrade your character throughout the run and find items to unlock allies that provide assistance. Special powers become available when you discover the spirits of European heroes hidden within the game world. The experience includes multiple difficulty modes, with an optional permadeath feature for increased challenge. A dynamic soundtrack plays during the action, complementing the glorious 16bit-style retro pixel art visuals. The main story takes approximately eight hours to complete, offering a focused narrative journey through this dystopian setting.Read more
