The Hex is an indie single-player title published and developed by Daniel Mullins Games, released on October 16, 2018. The game takes place in a creaky old tavern located in a forgotten corner of the video-game universe where a storm is raging. An anonymous caller informs the barkeep that a murder plot is underway within The Six Pint Inn. There are six patrons present, and each one is a video game protagonist attempting to escape their past. Players control these six individuals as they explore the tavern to uncover the truth behind the planned killing. The setting triggers flashbacks that play out in entirely different genres, occasionally blending multiple styles together. Investigating these memories allows you to discover who the murderer is or learn darker secrets about the cast-aside protagonists. The main story takes approximately five hours to complete, while including extras extends the experience to six hours. A completionist run requires about twelve hours of gameplay.
