About
The Necromancer's Tale is a narrative-driven top-down RPG published and developed by Psychic Software, released on July 17, 2025. This title falls within the Adventure, RPG, and Strategy genres and offers a single-player experience. Players assume the role of a minor noble in the 18th Century who becomes drawn into the Dark Necromantic Arts while seeking knowledge and revenge. The game presents a world filled with weird elements, morbid themes, and a gradual descent into madness as you pursue great power. Your journey involves mastering powerful rites of death and reanimation found within a great spellbook that lies before you. You must decipher these arcane rituals to raise an undead army to march against your enemies without losing your mind or attracting the ire of townsfolk. Progress through the game requires determination, cunning, secrecy, diplomacy, blackmail, coercion, and seduction until you are ready to reveal yourself. The narrative is story-rich, featuring 400,000 words of hand-written lore for you to explore. You will converse with over 180 NPC characters, each accompanied by their own hand-drawn portrait art. The developers have confirmed that no generative AI was used in the creation of the game's content.Read moreShow less
