About

The Red Lantern is an indie RPG and adventure title developed and published by Timberline Studio, released on December 8, 2021. This single-player experience focuses on resource management within a narrative framework where you play as The Musher. You take on the role of someone making a rash decision to begin a new life in Alaska with her best friend Chomper. The core gameplay involves assembling a team of five sled dogs and attempting to find your way home through the wilderness. Survival is central to the experience, requiring you to manage limited resources while caring for your canine companions. You must learn to adapt after failures occur as both yourself and your dogs try to navigate the wild terrain. The game allows you to choose four specific dogs to complete your team, each possessing distinct personalities and stories. These selections influence how you prepare for the journey ahead. The main story runs for approximately two hours when focusing solely on the primary narrative path. If you include extra content, the total playtime extends to around four hours. There is no completionist mode available for this title. The adventure concludes as you work toward finding your new home after an initial lack of preparation for the challenges ahead.
