About
The Red Solstice is an action RPG and strategy title developed and published by Ironward, released on July 9, 2015. Set in the year 2280 A.D., the game follows the last survivors of a ruined Earth as they search for a new home on Mars. This planet's inhabitants were not welcoming to outsiders, creating a hostile environment for the newcomers. The gameplay focuses on tactical squad-based action where players must fight to survive against overwhelming odds. Players can experience the story in single-player mode or engage in cooperative online multiplayer with up to eight other participants. In co-op campaigns, one player may take the lead by issuing commands and setting waypoints while others follow orders. The game takes place across huge maps on Mars, where users roam freely to complete randomized objectives. Surprise events occur frequently to maintain tension throughout the experience. Survival is achieved through leveling up characters to unlock new weapons and abilities over time. The main story content lasts approximately fifteen hours for those who wish to see the narrative through. Beyond the primary storyline, there are no additional hours listed for extras or completionist runs in the provided data. Survivors must adapt their tactics to conquer challenges by any means necessary within this distant future setting.
