About
Umurangi Generation is an indie, simulation, and casual title developed and published by ORIGAME DIGITAL and PLAYISM. The game was released on May 19, 2020, as a single-player experience set in Tauranga Aotearoa during a future marked by crisis. Players take on the role of a courier for the Tauranga Express while navigating this setting. The core gameplay involves first-person photography where players unlock various lenses and equipment throughout their journey. Each image captured is evaluated based on its color, content, and composition to determine a cash score that contributes to the final payout. Players can complete photo bounties in any style they prefer before delivering parcels to finish each level. Progression includes exploration bonuses available on every level, such as unlocking new camera gear by finding film canisters or recreating postcards. Additional rewards are granted for fulfilling timed deliveries and capturing images that include all friends in a single shot. Players can also edit their photos and develop them within the game interface. The main story takes approximately three hours to complete, while finishing all extras extends playtime to four hours. A completionist run requires about five hours of gameplay.
