You are responsible for establishing bases, supplying them with resources, and unlocking new units for your forces. The game features realistic battlefield mechanics where troops in extreme combat conditions may withdraw from the fight. You must dispatch MEDEVAC helicopters to evacuate wounded personnel and avoid leaving anyone behind. Equipment is treated as a valuable asset that is difficult to replace, so you must weigh the cost of losses carefully. Clearing roads from IEDs is essential to allow supply convoys to reach remote forward operating bases without unnecessary casualties.
