About

Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord is a full 3D remake of the first game in the legendary Wizardry series of RPGs, published and developed by Digital Eclipse. This title serves as a direct inspiration to later series like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest while offering many upgrades for modern role-playing game fans. Released on September 15, 2023, the game functions as a single-player experience that preserves the appeal of the classic original. Players can craft their own party of adventurers and head into the labyrinth at the behest of the mad overlord Trebor in search of the amulet stolen by the evil wizard Werdna. The gameplay involves battling groups of challenging enemies, avoiding hidden traps, and making your way deeper into the dungeon as you prepare for the ultimate battle against Werdna himself. The main story plus extras offers approximately 20 hours of content for players to explore within this action, fantasy, adventure, and RPG genre.
