About
Drova - Forsaken Kin is a pixel art Action-RPG developed by Just2D and published by Deck13, released on October 14, 2024. The game draws inspiration from grim dark classics while incorporating elements of Celtic mythology within its narrative. Players enter a handcrafted open world where their specific choices and actions directly shape the surrounding environment. This single-player experience allows users to explore nature and interact with spirits that govern the land. The story centers on a society that has learned to capture the spirits of a dead empire to rule over them instead of living under their influence. However, the remaining spirits have become angry, leading to a division within the world that players must navigate. Participants can join one of two factions, each pursuing different goals with values that impact the entire story. Your decision to align with either group will remain relevant throughout the game and determine your role in the conflict. Combat relies on a flow-based system where different combos and weapons are available for use during encounters. You begin as a nobody with no equipment and must study your environment to reveal mysteries and grow stronger over time. The gameplay involves fulfilling tasks, trading resources, gathering materials, and crafting new gear to survive dangerous landscapes. Various abilities can be learned and mastered to create a playstyle that suits individual preferences. Mysteries are uncovered by examining clues found in the surroundings while battling the channeled anger of spirits within the world. Players must learn how to use these natural forces in their favor while preparing for conflicts with hostile entities. Every action taken comes with a price, and betrayals from allies or foes can occur as you progress through the tailored story. The narrative evolves based on your dialogues and decisions, ensuring that no two playthroughs follow the exact same path.
