About
ELEX II is an action RPG and adventure title developed by Piranha Bytes and published by THQ Nordic, released on March 1, 2022. This sequel takes place in the science-fantasy world of Magalan, where the protagonist Jax must unite free people against a new threat known as the Skyands. The game offers a single-player experience set in a post-apocalyptic environment that players can explore with significant freedom using a jetpack. The narrative begins several years after Jax defeated the Hybrid, at which point a new danger arrives from the sky and unleashes dark powers that endanger life on the planet. To defend peace and protect his family, Jax undertakes a mission to convince various factions to unite against the invaders while searching for his separated son, Dex. Players can navigate the epic story in any direction they choose within the massive environments of Magalan. The main storyline requires approximately 37 hours to complete, while including extras extends the playtime to about 57 hours. Those aiming for a completionist run will spend roughly 76 hours exploring all aspects of the game.

Most evident in its clunky, annoying combat system, Elex 2 is living in a janky Euro RPG past that its closest peers have nearly all transcended by now.
