About

Galacticare is a simulation strategy game published by CULT Games and developed by Brightrock Games, released on May 23, 2024. Players act as the Director of Galacticare to manage an interstellar healthcare company with the goal of saving the galaxy while ensuring financial stability. The single-player experience allows you to design, furnish, and upgrade your hospital facilities across various sci-fi settings. You will hire doctors who possess distinct traits and backgrounds, then work to keep staff content by satisfying their diverse needs. The game features a roster of unique Consultants ranging from DJs to monks, each with specific mechanics and personalities that evolve throughout the campaign. These consultants remain in your team and grow over time, unlocking new skills and playstyle options as you progress through the story. You will discover and research alien conditions to cure patients of all shapes and sizes, including entities like puppy-sized lemurs or entire planets. Healthcare services are provided for diverse locations such as musical festivals, deep-space prisons, communal space farms, and industrial disaster sites. Management involves using holographic doctors, short-range teleporters, and subspace portals to micromanage hospital performance effectively. Players can upgrade rooms, read the thoughts of everyone aboard their station, and purchase equipment from a colossal wandering trader. The primary objective is to raise your Hospital Rating, which serves as the only goal that truly matters in this colorful and bizarre journey. Starting orbiting 23rd-century Earth, the narrative takes you from humble beginnings to the internal world of an extra-dimensional deity. A disclaimer notes that Galacticare contains mature references, innuendo, and dark humor within its gameplay. The Challenge Mode is available in the newest build and introduces mutated conditions that randomly increase mortality rates and infectiousness. In this mode, infection rates surge because KPI safeties were switched off, causing patients to arrive in hordes via shuttle bays. Patients are more likely to be disruptive and require rooms you have not yet built or existing rooms with heavy queues. Treatment difficulty increases significantly as patient health deteriorates faster, necessitating the use of high-level doctors to prevent untimely deaths. Income from treatments is reduced, the travelling merchant offers fewer freebies, and Level 3 doctors can no longer be recruited directly. New loss conditions apply if the patient survival rate falls too low, resulting in your hospital being yoinked by the Space Cops. Disasters occur more frequently and intensely, while patients become less patient and much harder to keep happy during sandbox events. If you succeed under these harrowing conditions, you will be rewarded with a set of golden trophies for surviving the increased difficulty. The Research Lab, Training Room, Recovery Ward, and Crafttech upgrades are all available from Chapter 1 to help manage the new dangers. Every mechanic has been tuned to provide a more challenging experience with adjustments to spawners, patient needs, economic balance, and patient health. This mode is intended for those who want their Galacticare experienceRead more
