About
Headlander is an action-adventure title published by Adult Swim and developed by Double Fine Productions, released on July 25, 2016. The game falls within the arcade, action, and comedy genres and features a single-player experience. Players launch into a retro 70's sci-fi setting where humanity has transferred their minds into robotic bodies under computer rule. As the last known human with only a disembodied head remaining, you must travel through a hostile world of machines to find clues about your fractured past. You use a special helmet that allows you to dock into and take control of any robotic host body as you move from one to the next. This journey takes place in a side-scrolling environment where things are not quite what they appear to be. The main story length is approximately six hours, while completing the main story plus extras extends playtime to seven hours. A completionist run requires about eight hours to finish all available content.
