About
Jusant is an action-puzzle climbing game developed and published by DON'T NOD, released on October 31, 2023. This single-player title falls within the indie, adventure, and platformer genres while offering a meditative experience focused on ascending a tall tower. Players can challenge themselves at their own pace to explore various paths and uncover secrets left behind by a past civilization. Success in navigating this mysterious environment depends on mastering climbing tools and monitoring the stamina meter throughout the ascent. As players gain height and refine their abilities, they must determine the most effective use of available tools to reach specific destinations. Exploring alternative routes allows individuals to discover clues regarding the history of the location. The journey takes place across different biomes filled with flora and fauna, all accompanied by a peaceful soundtrack. Climbers will encounter arid, windy slopes and find shelter in tunnels illuminated only by bioluminescence. The experience is designed to be played at a relaxed speed without strict time limits. A creature named Ballast assists the player throughout the journey by waking nature along the way. This companion helps reveal clues that aid in piecing together the tower's history and reaching the summit. The main story requires approximately four hours to complete, while including extras extends playtime to six hours. A completionist approach to the game takes about eight hours to finish.Read moreShow less

Jusant is my favorite Don’t Nod title since the original Life is Strange and is one of the year’s best gems. The climbing mechanics are so smart and well-executed that I hope other games take notes. Add an inviting presentation, a pleasant soundtrack, and an alluring air of mystery and isolation reminiscent of Team Ico’s best works, and Jusant is a rewarding expedition.
