About
Minute of Islands is an indie action adventure platformer published by Assemble Entertainment and developed by Studio Fizbin. The game was released on June 12, 2021, and offers a single-player experience set in a pastoral archipelago. You play as Mo, a skilled tinkerer who lives with her family on islands once inhabited by an ancient race of giants. These giants left behind otherworldly machines that must be kept running to prevent an almost forgotten threat from swallowing everything. Players wield the powerful Omni Switch to solve environmental puzzles and navigate platforming sections while restoring the hidden engines. The narrative unfolds as an emotional poetic story that reveals the dark truth beneath the islands' surfaces. This tale is narrated by actress Megan Gay and explores whether Mo's vow to fix the machines is truly what she needs. The world features intricate hand-drawn comic art visuals accompanied by a deeply atmospheric soundtrack. The game takes place across multiple unique islands where you can meet curious characters and uncover the archipelago's secrets. The main story length is six hours, which also represents the total time for both the main story and extras. Completionist playthroughs extend to six hours as well, allowing players to fully explore the fantastic colorful world.

Minute of Islands is a beautiful thing, but the gameplay can't keep up and there's no real narrative to be found.
