About
Nine Parchments is a co-operative blast 'em up game of magical mayhem developed and published by Frozenbyte, the creators of the Trine series. Released on December 4, 2017, this title falls within the Arcade, Action, Fantasy, and RPG genres. The narrative follows runaway apprentice wizards who seize the opportunity to complete their spellbooks by hunting for the lost Nine Parchments. As these would-be wizards rapidly acquire powerful new spells without learning proper safety measures, their hasty progress results in plenty of deadly accidents. The game combines real-time spell-shooting action with RPG elements that allow players to level up their characters and collect magical loot. Players fill their wardrobe with a myriad of wizard hats and powerful staves while discovering and mastering dozens of spells. New playable characters are unlocked through quests, and character progression is managed via Skill Trees. The experience supports online and local co-op play for 1-4 players, where friends can help or hinder each other using resurrection mechanics and friendly fire options. The main story takes approximately eight hours to complete, while the full campaign including extras extends to about eleven hours. For those aiming for a completionist run, the game offers around forty-four hours of content. Throughout this time, players battle strange creatures and mighty bosses set within the beautiful Trine world.
