Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is an action, adventure, sci-fi, and strategy title published and developed by Oddworld Inhabitants. This release arrived on July 24, 2016, serving as a new port for the franchise. The game features single-player gameplay that runs at 60 frames per second with higher resolution textures and improved audio quality. It also includes higher polygon models, better cut-scenes, and numerous fixes compared to previous versions. Players guide Mudokon champion Abe and his aquatic Gabbit partner Munch through the third adventure in the Oddworld series. The duo uses special psychic powers, power-ups, and other abilities to reclaim gabbit eggs that have been packaged in a can of gabbiar. Abe can climb and jump to reach new areas while running to escape dangerous enemies. When necessary, he chants to take control of an enemy's soul and use their guns to clear a path to safety. Munch swims around the new realms of Oddworld and zips along with a wheelchair power-up when on the ground. He utilizes a remote control head port to fire up cranes and drop Sloggies into pens or hijack nearby machines including anesthesia bots. Every friendly character found in the world becomes a fighting ally, such as Fuzzles and Mudokons. Players can use consumer power-ups like Expresso and Bounce to amp up abilities for quick movement or climbing walls. The game presents a whole new Oddworld with lush rivers, towering mountains, and hundreds of trees that bloom or die. Users interact with dozens of different oddball races using GameSpeak to get inhabitants from Big Bro Sligs to Fuzzles to carry out tasks. The intelligent cinematic camera, auto-targeting system, and no-stick navigation system make playing a breeze for users. Easy QuikSave and limitless lives allow players plenty of chances to take on any situation without frustration. The main story takes approximately 12 hours to complete, while the main story plus extras extends to 14 hours. A completionist playthrough requires about 18 hours to finish all available content.
