About
Pit People is an indie title developed and published by The Behemoth that launched on March 2, 2018. This action RPG strategy game offers both single-player and co-op modes for local or online play. Players can engage in a two-player story experience locally or online, as well as participate in local 2v2 arena matches. The game supports up to four players specifically for the 2v2 In the Pit online mode. The adventure takes place in an apocalyptic wonderland where heroes rise from the Pit to face various threats. Hostile enemies include sinister robots, deadly vampires, and cupcake people within a brutally adorable setting. Participants will quest and explore while finding loot to customize their fighters and recruit strange species. The experience relies on positioning tactics as players master their destiny through strategic decision-making. Visually, the game features the signature Behemoth art style accompanied by humor throughout its content. Over 1,500 unlocks are available alongside more than 100 quests and missions for players to complete. A permadeath option allows users to make their experience extra special during gameplay sessions. The turn-based nature of the co-op adventure ensures a fast-paced flow as teams work together.

Pit People Critic Reviews and Review Scores

The catchy song that plays over Pit People's ending credits (and has been stuck in my head for the last several days) proclaims: “And it all makes sense now!” That might be overstating things, since its tactical battles never played out the way I expected due to each character having a mind of their own when it comes to what to actually attack or heal. But pit People's weird world has a special, quirky way of being amusing no matter what you're doing. I enjoyed it mostly in small doses, as the bright colors, twisted sense of humor, and goofy, energetic soundtrack can get to be a little much sometimes.

Though its battle system isn't revolutionary, Pit People mixes brain-teasing battles with a barrage of great humor that makes it an enjoyable jaunt through a fun and colorful world

The Behemoth's turn-based strategy game carries the studio's usual sense of humor and a fun Pokémon-style "catch 'em all" twist.
