About
Police Stories is an action, indie, strategy, and simulation title developed by Mighty Morgan and published by HypeTrain Digital. Released on September 18, 2019, the game offers both single-player and online co-op experiences. Players can choose to play alone or team up with a partner to complete missions together for improved scores. The gameplay focuses on tactics rather than immediate aggression, requiring split-second decisions in every situation. The narrative follows two police operatives, John Rimes and Rick Jones, as they handle life-threatening scenarios like infiltrating gang hideouts and making arrests. Each level features randomly placed criminals, hostages, and evidence that change with every restart to create new opportunities. Various types of lawbreakers appear throughout the game, ranging from petty criminals to organized gangs and terrorists. These enemies possess unique weapons, behaviors, and shooting skills that differ from one another. Success depends on avoiding detection and conserving ammunition while taking down suspects quietly. The Surrender System allows players to apprehend targets using warning shots or melee combat instead of lethal force. Players can issue commands to Rick Jones, who may assist in dangerous situations if used wisely. Access to specialized equipment such as under-the-door cameras and door blast charges is available throughout the missions. All actions are scored in real time, meaning aggressive play does not guarantee a high enough result to advance. The main story takes approximately four hours to complete, while the full experience with extras extends to seven hours. Completing all objectives for a completionist run requires about thirteen hours of gameplay.
