About
Project Warlock is a first-person shooter developed by Buckshot Software and published by Retrovibe. The game was released on December 6, 2018, offering fans of Doom, Hexen, and Wolfenstein a new experience. Players battle through sixty levels filled with bloodthirsty enemies and challenging bosses. The title provides not just firepower but also a perk-based character development system. It includes weapon upgrades and an unlockable spells system for those seeking a classic FPS experience. Development began with an early build available to gamers in April 2018, which received enthusiastic feedback. Over the next six months, the team led by showrunner Jakub Cislo focused on polishing the game. This process aimed to deliver the most complete and satisfying experience possible for players. John Romero has also noted that the title looks cool. The final product is an independent gem priced to appeal to fans of polished indie titles. The single-player campaign allows you to become a mysterious Warlock on a mission to eradicate evil. You can travel through time and space while wielding various guns in fast-paced environments. The game features fifty worlds across five distinct settings, ranging from frozen Antarctic bases to medieval castles. Players will encounter seventy-two enemies including flying demons and large robots. Exploration involves finding keys, accessing secret caches with ammo and gold, and using lifts or hidden buttons. The main story takes approximately seven hours to complete while the full experience extends to eight hours. A completionist run of all content requires about fourteen hours to finish. The arsenal consists of thirty-eight weapons supported by twelve perks and eight spells. Combat involves splashing walls and floors with blood and chunks from defeated foes. You must dodge attacks while navigating vast levels that include graveyards and other dangerous locations.

Project Warlock is an admirable shotgun blast from the past, but it doesn't really have an identity of its own.
