About
RiME is a single-player puzzle adventure published by Grey Box and Six Foot, with development handled by Tequila Works and QLOC. The game was released on May 26, 2017, and supports controller input for gameplay. Players take on the role of a young boy who awakens alone on a mysterious island following a severe storm. The setting includes wild animals, ancient ruins, and a large tower that draws the player toward its peak. You must use logic and determination to navigate this rugged world while receiving assistance from a helpful fox companion. Exploration allows you to interact with wildlife, locate hidden items, and observe the environment at your own pace. Progress involves solving puzzles within the old ruins using sound, light, and shadow projections. The main story takes approximately six hours to complete, while including extras extends playtime to seven hours. A completionist approach to finding all content requires about ten hours of gameplay.

RiME Critic Reviews and Review Scores
Rime is a middling puzzle platformer with some genuine narrative depth, but the latter doesn't quite justify the former.
Tequila Works conjures a powerful spell from seemingly familiar elements.
Rime's superficial beauty and interesting mysteries provided enough enjoyment to make me willing to put up with its shallow and familiar elements under the hood. While nothing about Rime is necessarily bad, you can find more interesting versions of nearly every single element of it in other, better games.
Rime's puzzles rarely challenge, sometimes making you feel dumb for missing the obvious solution rather than smart for figuring them out, but the journey is a strong one with a satisfying ending
Shallow puzzles and frustrating navigation mar an otherwise beautiful experience.
