Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration includes both the base game and the Season Pass, which features new content. Players can explore Croft Manor in a new story called "Blood Ties" and then defend it against a zombie invasion in "Lara's Nightmare". The game also offers an online Co-Op Endurance mode where players can survive extreme conditions with a friend. There is also a new "Extreme Survivor" difficulty setting. The 20 Year Celebration edition includes an outfit and weapon inspired by Tomb Raider III, as well as five classic Lara skins. Existing DLC challenges players to explore a new tomb that houses an ancient terror in Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, and combat waves of infected predators in Cold Darkness Awakened. The game is published by Crystal Dynamics, Feral Interactive (Mac), and Feral Interactive (Linux). It was developed by Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montréal, Feral Interactive (Mac), Feral Interactive (Linux), and Nixxes. Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration was released on February 9, 2016. The game is an action and adventure title with a single-player mode.

Rise of the Tomb Raider's first shot pans over the vast, foreboding landscape we'll soon come to know. In many ways, it functions as a promise on the part of Crystal Dynamics: there are big things ahead of us. And at the end of Lara's journey, after we've seen her through this adventure, and experienced everything the world has to offer, it's clear that promise was kept.
