About
Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is an action-RPG developed by DARK STAR and published by Neon Doctrine, released on October 22, 2018. This indie title falls within the action genre and features single-player gameplay. The narrative follows Adam, a lone warrior whose past is forgotten as he stands on a strange shore while his home, the Kingdom of Cavanis, suffers under blasphemy. Driven by an unstoppable force, he seeks redemption through a series of trials against demonic bosses. The core mechanic requires players to choose aspects of themselves to weaken before each encounter with the avatars of Sin. Before entering combat, you must sacrifice a stat and level down to face eight abhorrent bosses, where the first seven are based on one of the deadly sins. Each fight becomes progressively tougher as you wage war against sin itself. The game combines inspiration from classic boss-battlers and modern skill-based action RPGs with gothic anime styling and horror storytelling. Players can expect a main story length of five hours, which extends to six hours when including extras. For those pursuing completionist goals, the total playtime reaches ten hours. The experience focuses on rising from the depths of a crumbling kingdom to challenge increasingly difficult opponents.
