Spelunky is an action, indie, adventure, and platformer video game. It was published by Mossmouth and developed by Mossmouth. The game was released on August 7, 2013. Spelunky offers both single-player and multiplayer experiences. Players can enjoy the game cooperatively or in deathmatch modes with up to four explorers. Legends speak of a cursed cave hidden beneath the desert, so twisted by time that its passages shift like the sand under which it lies. The cave is said to be filled with fabulous riches, but also incredible danger! Spelunky features randomly-generated, fully-destructible levels filled with monsters, traps, treasure, and secrets. Players have complete freedom while navigating these environments and mastering their many secrets. The main story of Spelunky can be completed in approximately 20 hours. Adding the extras increases the playtime to around 46 hours. A completionist playthrough will take roughly 94 hours. Spelunky won the IGF "Excellence in Design" Award, was named Gamespot's "Platformer of the Year", and was ranked #2 "Best Game of 2012" by Edge.Read moreShow less
