About

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a standalone prequel to the acclaimed S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. The game tells the story of the Clear Sky group, who aim to research and understand the Zone. The events in Clear Sky take place before those in Shadow of Chernobyl. Great Emission, a major anomalous energy release from the time of the Second Incident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, has significantly altered the Zone. Players must investigate the cause of this emission and work to prevent future disasters if they wish to survive. The unstable Zone is experiencing heightened anomalous activity, leading to map transformations that disrupt the balance of power within it. Groups are now engaged in conflict over territory, artifact fields, and spheres of influence. The Faction War has begun, forcing players to choose sides and compete against rivals for control of the Cordon. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky offers both single-player and multiplayer experiences. The main story can be completed in approximately 13 hours. Players who explore additional content can expect a total playtime of around 23 hours. A completionist playthrough, which involves finishing all aspects of the game, will take roughly 37 hours. The game was developed by GSC Game World and published by GSC World Publishing. It was released on September 15, 2008.
