About
Trover Saves the Universe is an indie action adventure developed and published by Squanch Games, Inc. The game was released on June 4, 2019, and supports single-player gameplay with controller input and virtual reality. Players control a purple eye-hole monster named Trover who reluctantly agrees to save the cosmos alongside the protagonist. The narrative centers on rescuing dogs that have been kidnapped by a villainous character called Glorkon. This antagonist has stuffed the stolen pets into his eye holes and is draining their life essence to destroy the universe. You must navigate this bizarre comedy while dealing with Trover, who often complains about his job and dislikes you personally. The experience includes combat encounters, platforming sections, puzzles, and morally questionable choices that can lead to unfortunate outcomes. The main story takes approximately five hours to complete, while adding extras extends playtime to around six hours. A completionist run of the game requires roughly eight hours to finish all available content.

Trover Saves the Universe is a short and sweet VR platformer wrapped in one of the most ridiculous and funny video game stories you'll ever see.

Combat, puzzles, and exploration feel familiar and unspectacular, but the bizarre story and hilarious dialogue set it apart

Justin Roiland's usual obnoxious humor is both the best and worst thing about an otherwise no-frills platformer.
