Today, in the wee hours of the morning, HoYoverse hosted the Genshin Impact “Luna III” Special Program, offering players a few details on what’s to come in the “Song of the Welkin Moon Interlude” A Nocturne of the Far North. The main story content of the update continues the free-to-play action RPG's Nod-Krai story with a quest celebrating a local festival known as Moon-Prayer Night. This event takes place when the moon is closest to Teyvat and the Khuvaki is at its highest. It’s also, apparently, a bit of a going-away party for the Dameselette, who is planning her return to the moon. Of course, things rarely go exactly as planned, and weird things start happening.
This update also marks the appearance of two members of the Hexenzirkel, who have come to Nod-Krai because things have gotten serious enough to catch their attention. Yes, we’re finally going to hang out with Alice and Nicole – although, they’re definitely not in town just for a visit. And Alice, at least, won’t just be visiting Nod-Krai. There will also be a visit to Mondstadt, where Venti has decided to reclaim some of his old powers. When the Tone Deaf Bard decides to put down his wine, you know things are getting serious.
Venti won’t be the only Mondstadtian getting new powers. As part of an event, Alice will be helping several members of the nation level up – including Durin, the new five-star coming with the update. Durin is a Pyro Sword wielder with two combat forms. He, Venti, and other friends associated with the Hexenzirkel – Klee, Albedo, Mona, Razor, Fischel, and Sucrose, will all become “Hexerei Characters”, unlocking new powers that are amplified when they are on a team together.
Of course, we all know each update gets two new characters. The second, Jahoda, is a four-star on the same event wish as Durin. She seems like she’ll be a good one to get while rolling for the little dragon because she’s an Anemo Bow wielder with mad support skills.
The rest of the event wish characters are returning characters. Venti will be on the same event wish as Durin and Jahoda. The second event wish will feature Varesa and Xilonen. (Sorry guys, no Varka this time. But at least I don’t have to choose between him and Durin this go round. Although, if Varka ends up on the same event wish as Alice, I'll be mad.) Varesa and Xilonen make some sense as they’ll be showing up in some version events.
For the Miliastria Wonderland fans, there are also updates to look forward to, including new cosmetics. Although, the big news is probably that players will be able to upload and download each other’s creations, allowing players to use others’ work in their own projects.
The new version drops on December 3. So you have about a week and a half to accumulate some Primos for those character rolls. Speaking of which, there were codes: 1203Kuunrukous, Dragon1203Durin, and GOGOCraftsPeople.
