Yesterday’s update for Apex Legends focuses on game reliability.
The developers of the battle royale reaffirmed that stability remains a top priority, alongside continued enhancements introduced throughout the year. Back in April, there was a migration to Amazon’s GameLift servers. Since then, players have reportedly experienced improved CPU performance, less rubber banding, and more accurate hit registration. The switch has also given the team better monitoring capabilities and increased flexibility with data center deployment, helping them address issues faster and more locally.
Also, a new fast patching system has been rolled out. After On-Demand Skin Loading was implemented during Season 20, the developers developed a patching process that can now push client-side updates within a single day. It was much slower with the previous system. This allows quicker reaction to both player feedback and internal findings. While currently limited to client patches, the team said the results have already been noticeable — with quicker resolution of bugs and performance issues.
The developers mentioned a code review overhaul as well, which has reduced server error disconnects, enhanced memory management extending beyond cosmetics into maps and effects, and continued optimization around DX12 now that DX11 support has ended. All of these are supposed to contribute to a more stable experience. Looking ahead, the team said they’re exploring terrain system improvements. They added that they’re commitmed to stability and reliability factors like anti-cheat systems, matchmaking, and audio.
