New cities can be founded on craters or inside lava tubes to meet the population's rising demands. At the start of each turn, players choose the best buildings from a selection of randomly proposed project cards. City layouts must be planned efficiently to find strong synergies between different structures. Settlements can grow into utopian metropolises or become industrial settlements automated by robots. Advanced geo-engineering options include restarting a volcano, constructing giant space mirrors, or nuking the poles. Life forms such as adaptive bacteria and forests with bears are introduced through specific projects.
