About
Terraformers is a turn-based strategy and simulation title developed by Asteroid Lab and published by Goblinz Studio. Released on March 8, 2023, this single-player sci-fi game focuses on colony building and resource management within a roguelike framework. Players explore the Red Planet to develop cities while spreading life and executing ambitious terraforming projects. The experience takes place in a procedurally generated world where every new playthrough presents different scenarios. Leaders are sent to mysterious locations to uncover rich resource depots, giant crystal caves, and natural wonders. New cities can be founded on craters or inside lava tubes to meet the population's rising demands. At the start of each turn, players choose the best buildings from a selection of randomly proposed project cards. City layouts must be planned efficiently to find strong synergies between different structures. Settlements can grow into utopian metropolises or become industrial settlements automated by robots. Advanced geo-engineering options include restarting a volcano, constructing giant space mirrors, or nuking the poles. Life forms such as adaptive bacteria and forests with bears are introduced through specific projects. The main story takes approximately 35 hours to complete, while including extras extends the playtime to about 53 hours.
