Yesterday was of course April Fools' day, and lots of MMORPGs got in on the fun. Embers Adrift was no exception, announcing that nights would be longer, inventory item stacking would be limited to 20, and a PvP proving grounds was being added.

But today is no longer the 1st of April, and Embers Adrift has released a new Tweet saying that the PvP proving grounds was no joke. They even got us as we skipped covering it yesterday assuming it was a joke since the first two items listed were CLEARLY jokes.
Ups! The Proving Grounds was actually not an April Fool!

You can find our first PVP arena in #EmbersAdrift. It's LIVE NOW! 1V1, free for all or Group VS group. Log in now to fight other drifters for funsie!

That's right, a new arena has been constructed for hot PvP action. You can go 1v1, free for all, or party vs. party. Non-PvP flagged folks can't attack PvP flagged folks, so no cheating.
When in the Proving Grounds lull, threat, and fear will not do anything. No armor damage will be applied when giving up. The patch notes make it very clear that this feature is for fun and there is currently no balance around the PvP, and balance is something they have no intention of doing. There could be more arenas added later on, but the devs admit that is low on the priority list.
